What is hospice care?

Hospice care is a type of care that focuses on the quality of life of people who are terminally ill or with advanced illnesses. It provides comfort, support, and pain management to help patients and their families cope with the end-of-life process.

What makes Willow Tree Hospice Co. different?

Hospice care is a type of care that focuses on comfort care for those we love or who need care the most. As a small family business we get that, our Director of Nursing has over 15 years of home health and hospice care under her belt- and with a family business you know who you are going to work with and see! No robots on the phone, or struggling to contact a nurse (using our 24/7 nurse line is available!) when you or your loved one needs help the most.

Who is eligible for hospice care?

Hospice care is available to individuals who have been diagnosed with one of many terminal or advanced illnesses. Patients must also have a physician's certification of their terminal illness and must agree to forgo curative treatments.

Possible Eligible Diagnoses Include, but are not limited to:

Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias
Advanced Cancers
Congestive Heart Failure
Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
End-Stage Liver Disease
End-Stage Kidney Disease
Neurological Disorders (ALS, MS, Parkinson's, etc.)
Stroke
Those with serious multi-symptom deterioration, frequent ER trips and/or hospitalizations, or those discontinuing aggressive treatments, may too be eligible

How do I pay for hospice care?

Medicare pays 100% of allowable charges, including charges for: medication delivery, medical equipment (DME), medical supplies, respite care, and in-patient care related to the hospice diagnosis.

What services are provided by hospice care?

Hospice care provides a wide range of services, including pain management, symptom control, emotional support, spiritual care, and counseling. Hospice teams typically include doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers who work together to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families from the comfort of their home.
